Geotab is seeking a Data Scientist who will assist in the design and construction of Geotab's data mining and model-building processes from large amounts of raw data. This role collaborates with internal technical teams to analyze trends and support data-driven decision-making for customer-facing products. As a Data Scientist, your key responsibilities will include:

• Designing and constructing Geotab’s data modeling processes
• Creating algorithms and predictive models to solve complex business problems
• Generating queries from Geotab’s Big Data Infrastructure (e.g., Data Warehousing databases such as Google Big Query)
• Developing machine learning models, testing product performance, and maintaining reports and dashboards
• Working with internal technical teams to gather requirements and ensure data-driven products meet expectations

• Design and construct Geotab’s data modeling processes
• Create algorithms and predictive models to extract information for solving complex business problems
• Generate queries from Geotab’s Big Data Infrastructure (e.g., Google Big Query)
• Use machine learning packages (e.g., Scikit-learn and Tensor Flow) to develop ML models and features
• Test the performance of data-driven products and recommend improvements to Geotab’s product suite
• Collaborate with internal technical teams to gather requirements
• Design, develop, and maintain ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions
• Support a platform providing ad-hoc and automated access to large datasets

• 1-5 years experience as a Data Scientist or a similar role
• Post-secondary degree/diploma with specialization in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
• Strong programming knowledge (e.g., Python, SQL, C++) and experience with Big Data tools (e.g., Google Big Query)
• Experience with machine learning techniques (Scikit-learn, Tensor Flow) and BI tools (Tableau)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and make well-judged decisions
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent technical competence using software programs, including Google Suite for business
