What You Will Do
- Support the development, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and enforcement of data governance standards, policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with privacy, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Lead AI Governance to ensure ethical use and adherence to regulatory standards for AI‑driven processes.
- Collaborate with leadership, IT, business units, Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and Risk teams to align on data governance goals.
- Promote data literacy by creating training materials and conducting best‑practice sessions.
- Assist in the creation and enforcement of data management policies to meet regulatory mandates.
- Shape data governance accountabilities and operating models, enabling effective data stewardship.
- Enhance and implement robust data quality frameworks and conduct regular audits to maintain high data standards.
- Develop and monitor data governance metrics and KPIs to evaluate program efficacy.
- Proactively monitor data, metadata, and reference data quality across the entire data lifecycle.
- Implement and leverage governance tools and platforms, managing metadata artifacts such as glossaries, classifications, and lineage.
- Identify potential governance risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support data sharing and collaboration, ensuring proper access, usability, and monitoring of sharing agreements.
- Contribute to large‑scale governance projects from inception to completion.
- Stay current on industry trends, standards, and regulatory requirements, recommending updates to existing policies and practices.
- Post‑secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience with corporate data environments supporting cross‑functional governance.
- Proficiency with PL/SQL and experience working in a structured data environment.
- Knowledge of business intelligence, data warehousing techniques, and cloud solutions such as Azure or GCP.
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes and modern integration frameworks like API and event streaming.
- Hands‑on experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Data and/or Databricks Unity Catalog.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Expertise in creating and enforcing data governance policies to ensure data integrity, privacy, compliance, and security.
- Ability to collaborate with Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and Risk partners.
- Hands‑on experience with data analysis, quality assessment, and metadata management.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to problem‑solve and handle ambiguity.
- Effective stakeholder management and influence over decision‑making.
- Experience in process design and improvement initiatives, leveraging automation.
- CDMP certification is an asset.

Typical hiring range: $53,000 – $88,000. Salary decisions depend on experience, skills, market location, benchmarks, and internal equity.
