Position: IT Infrastructure Administrator (DevOPs Engineer

Overview

The Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of Pelmorex’s IT Infrastructure to standardize, modernize, and automate infrastructure management. The role involves designing solutions in line with the organization’s strategic goals and technology roadmap, working collaboratively with other administrators and technical leads. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and currently located in the Greater Toronto Area.

Day

to Day Responsibilities
  • Design and implement Pelmorex infrastructure core systems (Kubernetes, virtual machines, clusters, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments), including network security, automation, and monitoring.
  • Provide technical advice or leadership for IT-related projects.
  • Design infrastructure solutions that meet high availability, scalability, resiliency, integrity, and security requirements.
  • Review existing systems and platforms and recommend changes and improvements to leverage best‑of‑breed technologies.
  • Research and stay current on emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to ensure technology sustainability.
  • Perform quality assurance and documentation of the Pelmorex infrastructure architecture.
  • Document and hand over systems and processes to the IT Operations team for support.
  • Act as a 3rd‑level support escalation point.
  • Ensure that IT infrastructure systems meet, and endeavor to exceed, the agreed service levels.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improving IT service delivery.
  • Deliver projects on time, on budget, and to required quality, and provide after‑hours support as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as reasonably required.
  • Work outside business hours and weekends when required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a 24/7 IT environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience with Docker and Kubernetes cluster design, implementation, and management on Cloudstack, Proxmox, EKS, GKE, and AKS.
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud computing platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, Cloudstack, Proxmox).
  • Excellent knowledge of Kubernetes infrastructure management.
  • Experience in complex IT environments (network, systems, and storage).
  • Strong technical skills in Linux, Windows, scripting, Terraform, and automation.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Familiarity with system monitoring, log aggregation, and dashboard solutions (ELK, Splunk, Prometheus).
  • Experience with Dev Ops tools and culture.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver results within timelines.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members.
  • Proven track record of developing and providing service level agreements and service deliverables.
