Reporting to the Manager, IT PMO, the Project Lead - IT Project Services supports Sheridan’s various Project initiatives.

The Project Management Office (PMO) involves the management of over fifty (50) projects, divided among four (4) portfolios, that are essential to the success of advancing Sheridan’s digital transformation.

The Project Lead is accountable for leading the technical component of project delivery for multiple projects under any of the 4 portfolios. This position is to accommodate the current demand of projects created to achieve the goals of Sheridan’s strategic initiatives.

• Accountable for delivering the technology aspects of the project
• Creates and manages the IT project schedule, scope, costs and resourcing
• Manages the technology milestones within the project including development, integration, infrastructure, and security
• Responsible for managing unit testing, integration testing and preparation for UAT
• Coordinates UAT testing with the Business Project Manager/ Lead
• Is the primary IT coordinator/facilitator for the project
• Communicates within the project team to capture, analyze and facilitate decision making and project execution
• Collaborates with the Business Project Manager /Lead to manage issues and decisions in a timely manner

• Meeting with Sheridan IT PMO Manager and Portfolio Managers to transition intake project requests and to ensure proper information is recorded on the project request form, business case, charter
• Assists with Workfront Coordination for PMO to effectively prioritize and score projects
• Sets project/implementation standards and constraints within the boundaries of College policies and IT-PMO standards
• Advises business of scope of project/implementation; draws up system specifications including deadline dates, task lists, order of completion, security precautions, resource requirements, and develops an implementation strategy, including testing procedures, and sustainment, transition to business.
• Advises management of appropriate project approach as it relates to IT deliverables, structure, and methods.
• Gathers requirements from the Business Systems Analysts / external partners.
• Assesses and formalizes the project scope, goals, timelines, and deliverables to support business objectives.
• Provides leadership in establishing detailed IT design requirements and specifications.
• Produces costing estimates from information provided by internal stakeholders and corporate vendors.
• Identifies required resources and establishes project schedule, milestones and identifies critical path for IT deliverables.
• Co-ordinates IT tasks and testing with team members and other IT staff.
• Tracks project timelines and achieved milestones to ensure project is delivered on time, and communicates updates to management and other interested parties
• Updates and communicates project status reports to all interested parties via project dashboards
• Schedules and chairs meetings with internal and external stakeholders as needed
• Delegates and schedules tasks to external vendors / contractors
• Delegates project related tasks to IT project team as determined by management
• Monitors and ensures all IT project deficiencies are rectified by the vendors/contractors
• Leads Integration Solutions with other Sheridan Technology
• Analyses requirements and specifications, in the context of existing systems, security and data privacy requirements, to identify and document the impact and advise IT-PMO of steps needed to integrate
• Recommends changes to technical and/or business processes and models the system/system module to ensure it aligns with existing corporate systems/system modules
