The Inventory (shipping) Clerk is responsible for supporting inventory control and material flow throughout the manufacturing facility. This role involves replenishing production workstations, managing inventory levels, performing kitting tasks, and coordinating with various departments to ensure smooth operations. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

Job Summary   The Inventory (Shipping) Clerk is responsible for preparing, processing, and managing outgoing shipments in a warehouse or distribution environment. This role ensures that orders are accurately picked, packed, labeled, and shipped in a timely manner, including the preparation of customs documentation and classification of goods using tariff (HS) codes for international shipments, while complying with company procedures and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities     Prepare and process outgoing shipments according to company procedures
Pick and pack orders accurately based on shipping documentation
Label, weigh, and verify shipment contents before dispatch
Prepare and complete customs documentation for international shipments (e.g., commercial invoices, export declarations, HS/tariff codes, certificates of origin)
Accurately classify goods using Harmonized System (HS) tariff codes
Ensure compliance with all applicable import/export regulations and trade requirements
Coordinate with carriers and schedule pickups and deliveries
Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation (e.g., bills of lading, packing slips)
Inspect shipments for accuracy and quality prior to release
Track shipments and resolve discrepancies, delays, or customs-related issues
Communicate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams regarding shipping requirements
Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified)
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures
