OnsiteCollins Aerospace is looking to hire Machine Shop Technician ; reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will play a key role in producing high-quality aircraft parts by accurately interpreting engineering drawings and operating machines within a manufacturing cell.
Work Location:
Oakville Facility, Ontario – Canada
Available Shift: (Weekday Night Shift: Monday–Thursday | 8:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.)
What You Will Do
Perform own manual set-ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set-up instructions using CNC programming language (G codes).
Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes and self-inspection (OSV-Operator Self Verification).
Document actions in support of quality logs, communicate all discrepancies in machining to supervision and create Product Defect Sheets (PDS) as required.
Perform work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.
Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
Multi-task and operate other machines within the cell.
Can fully achieve the responsibilities of the position within a training time of 6-8 weeks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications We Require
Typically;
High school diploma, with a minimum of 5 years of Millturn and/or Mill/Lathe machining experience.
Experience utilizing measuring equipment in support of quality requirements
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
Experience with Renishaw probe and probe cycles.
The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP
Qualifications We Prefer
Certificate of Qualification (C of Q)
Verbal and written communication skills (English)
Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner
Experience with TMAC adaptive control
