Saw Operator

Location

Oakville, ON (Speers/Bronte)

Payrate: DOE

1 for the morning shift (6:am to 2:pm 8hrs, 5-day week – Monday to Friday)

Permanent after 3 months of probation

Responsibilities
• Set up saw machines and make necessary adjustments for each job
• Install stops or guides to specified lengths
• Operate saw machines, monitoring for defects or issues during operation
• Use measurement tools to ensure product accuracy
• Assist in packing and transporting finished pieces
• Accurately complete job-related paperwork
• Support team operations as needed
• CNC and drill experience considered an asset
• Experience working with steel, mills, and drills preferred
• Work overtime and shifts as required Education and Experience
• Prior work experience in working with sheet metal
• High school or equivalent Key Competencies
• Responsible and reliable
• Stand and walk on concrete up to % of work day
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and crouch
• Physically capable of performing the essential duties and responsibilities of the position including regular lifting and carrying of 5- kgs
• Ability to use hands to reach and to handle or feel
• Manual dexterity in hands for tool usage
• Ability to visibly inspect product
• Will be trained on crane/hoist and/or forklift as required
• Work well under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment
• Good interpersonal skills; customer focused and a team player
