OnsiteCollins Aerospace is looking to hire Machine Shop Technician – Grinder, Reporting to the Supervisor – Processing, as the Machine Shop Technician - Grinding, you will be responsible for general grinding on the weekend night shift.
Work Location:
Oakville Facility, Ontario – Canada
Shift Hours – Weekend Nights – Friday - Sunday (6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.)
What You Will Do
OD grinding of large chrome and HVOF plated aircraft components
Participate in lean initiatives (i.e. 5S, TPM, process improvement teams)
Communicate and co-ordinate priorities and process issues between operators and shifts
Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Use of Cranes to move parts
Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
Multi-task and operate other machines within the cell.
Can fully achieve the responsibilities of the position within a training time of 4-6 weeks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications We Require
Typically;
High school diploma, and 3 - 5 years of experience in Grinding/ Lathe/ CNC Machining.
Experience with machine shop practices, including lathe, Turning , Vhone and / or Grinding.
Experience working to close tolerances and solid understanding of blueprint reading and all associated measuring equipment
The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP
Qualifications We Prefer
Certificate of Qualification (C of Q)
3 years of cylindrical grinding experience of large components.
