Tournament Convenor

Rate of Pay: $23,00/ hour

Our Tournament Convener are responsible for the execution of Canlan Sports including sign‑in, waivers and on‑site customer services. They manage the on‑site delivery & operations of the tournament.

• Advance teams to appropriate placement in playoff seeding
• Conduct memorable prizing presentation and awards
• Work in conjunction with referees
• Accurately post scores and penalties on website and large arena clock
• Accurate game sheets
• Report injuries & suspensions
• Communicate with other Game Officials, Tournament Conveners & Tournament Managers as needed
• Ensure accurate interpretation and execution of tournament rules and suspensions
• Ensure tournament games run smoothly and on schedule
• Inform teams of any outstanding balances owed, how to pay & any needed lock out situations

• Completed formal education Sports/Leisure Administration field an asset
• Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search required
• Basic First Aid, CPR and AED certification (asset)

• Willingness and ability to work flexible locations and hours (evenings & weekends)
• Hockey knowledge is preferred and considered an asset
• Strong knowledge of Hockey Canada ice hockey rules
• Good understanding of Tournament draws
• Outgoing, positive and team orientated with great communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills and able to work on the fly
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office software (particularly Excel and Word)
