Company DescriptionThe Indirect Procurement Category Specialist works under the direction of the Senior Manager of Indirect Procurement on the development and implementation of effective procurement strategies, from initial identification of procurement needs through delivery, for indirect goods and services within the Corporate Services space (HR, Marketing, Consulting, Finance, Temp Labor, etc.). Contributes to the planning, development, management and implementation of procurement strategic initiatives that align with the Water Tech Zone Company goals for reducing costs and meeting financial expectations, while managing vendor relationships.
This role will influence and collaborate with senior management, P&L leadership, regional leadership and the supply base to develop and deploy a holistic, global/regional strategy for indirect procurement.
- Sustains the negotiation, coordination, and ensures that assigned indirect spend categories and services are purchased at the best possible cost without compromising quality.
- Strategic thinking with multi‑disciplinary collaboration.
- Analytical with problem‑solving skills.
- Oversee Strategic Sourcing and Category Management for the assigned categories.
- Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with business units to ensure alignment between business unit goals and sourcing strategy objectives.
- Consult with stakeholders to achieve the best contractual outcomes, including strong legal and business terms and meaningful performance indicators and service levels.
- Negotiate, finalize, and advise on contract documents with support from Risk Management, Legal, Finance, and other key internal stakeholders.
- Experience in negotiating Master Services Agreements (MSA) and Statements of Work (SOW).
- Develop strong supplier relationships to enhance effectiveness and value; facilitate supplier reviews and generate continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and coordinate activities associated with the sourcing process, including but not limited to RFx preparation and execution, supplier response evaluations, project summaries/business case development, and supplier communications.
- Identify and implement savings opportunities, efficiencies, and process improvements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a similar field. A candidate with a master's degree and/or certification such as CPM/CPSM, PMP, etc., will have an added advantage.
- 3+ years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Supply Chain with knowledge of Category Management, Contract Management, and strategy deployment.
- Experience managing annual spend above 40 MM USD.
- 2+ years of experience managing indirect procurement‑related categories.
- Experience working with different cultures and environments in a matrix organization.
- Proficiency in computer‑based analytical and communication tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in supplier sourcing and eAuctions (e.g., SAP Ariba).
- Familiarity with Contract Management Tools (e.g., Ariba, Oracle Contracts).
Less than 10% travel expected.
