Negotiable We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer with strong food safety and enforcement experience to join our service. Key Requirements BSc/MSc Degree in Environmental Health approved by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, or CIEH/IEHO Diploma in Environmental Health. Higher Certificate in Food Control awarded by the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or Scottish Food Safety Officer Registration Board (SFSORB).

Experience in food safety and health and safety work, including taking enforcement cases in difficult or high-risk situations. Experience using a broad range of enforcement options. Strong understanding of EC and national food hygiene legislation, including the Food Law Code of Practice and Practice Guidance. Ability to conduct thorough food safety inspections across a range of food businesses. Competent in identifying non-compliances, food safety risks and poor practices.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Accurate and thorough record keeping. Additional Requirements Current driving licence and access to a vehicle with relevant insurance. Willingness to undertake monitoring visits outside standard working hours.
