MCT Library Circulation Assistant (Spring 2026)

Job SummaryProvide excellent customer service to users of the library, including circulating materials and communicating library policy. Maintain the collections by shelving, retrieving, inventorying, and conducting related tasks. Assist with library services such as OhioLINK and ILL processing, scanning materials, and basic servicing of electronic equipment.
Responsibilities- Operate circulation desk services: checking in/out library materials, paging items (Reserve and AV), answering telephone calls.
- Assist users with online library resources such as OBIS, answer questions, refer patrons to other departments.
- Enforce library policies and maintain security of building and collections.
- Service photocopiers, scanners, printers, and microform readers; respond to emergencies.
- Shelling and organizing collections, including shelf reading, inventorying, dusting, and moving large sections.
- Deliver materials to branch libraries, pack/unpack OhioLINK and ILL shipments, scan library materials, and perform other duties as required.

Required qualifications:
- Must be enrolled at Oberlin College.
- Punctual and able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to complete tasks independently and as part of a team.
