Join to apply for the Cafeteria Helper II - 3 hrs/day role at OBERLIN CITY SCHOOLS
3 hrs/day x 187 days/yr
10:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Be at least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent diploma.
- Demonstrates aptitude and attitude for successful performance of the responsibilities and goals.
- Able to safely and comfortably lift and hold up to 50 lbs with assistance of co-worker.
- Meets all mandated health requirements.
- Documentation of a clear criminal record.
- Has a current Serv Safe certification.
- Assists in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.
- Ability to read recipes and cook food in large quantities.
- Maintains the supply of foods offered and replenishes regularly during meal service periods.
- Assists in the daily clean up of the kitchen and service areas, washing of all trays, utensils, and equipment used that day, including the hot carts and cold carts.
- Performs major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the supervisor.
- Assumes responsibility for proper storage and disposal of unused foods.
- Complete monthly inventory and/or tally sheets. Organize and store supplies properly.
- Be able to take responsibility of kitchen when supervisor is absent as designated.
- Assists in maintaining a safe and orderly environment in the cafeteria.
- Knowledge of all kitchen equipment set up and break down procedures.
- Dispenses beverages, completes beverage inventories and submits beverage orders as required.
- Able to change work assignment from school to school, when so designated by the supervisor.
- Accurately counts daily receipts, prepares proper documentation, and delivers as required.
- Complete proper closing procedures.
- Works cooperatively with all cafeteria helpers, and other employees.
- Always enters walk in coolers and freezers with a co-worker.
- Always lifts items over 50 lbs with the assistance of a co-worker.
- All Classified employees are encouraged to attend up to four (4) in-service or orientation meetings annually on a voluntary basis.
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent or designee according to Board approved evaluation instrument.
