Oberlin High School in Lorain County is looking for a Head HS Boys Varsity Soccer Coach. The Head Boys Varsity Soccer Coach is responsible for leading, developing, and promoting the high school boys soccer program in alignment with the values and expectations of Oberlin City Schools. This position oversees all aspects of the varsity team, including player development, practice and game planning, program culture, communication, and program administration.

The coach is expected to model professionalism, sportsmanship, and leadership at all times while fostering a positive, growth‑oriented environment for student‑athletes.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching philosophy that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, accountability, and academic success.
  • Plan and lead all varsity practices, training sessions, and game strategies.
  • Evaluate player abilities and make decisions regarding team selection, lineups, and playing time based on fairness, effort, and team needs.
  • Build and maintain a strong, positive program culture that aligns with district athletic values.
  • Communicate consistently with athletes, families, and athletic administration regarding schedules, expectations, and program updates.
  • Oversee assistant coaches and collaborate to ensure continuity across all program levels.
  • Maintain high standards for conduct, safety, and adherence to OHSAA, district, and league rules and policies.
  • Coordinate off‑season conditioning, open fields, and player development opportunities as appropriate.
  • Manage equipment, uniforms, and program inventory responsibly.
  • Serve as a positive ambassador for the boys soccer program within the school and community.
