Overview
Franklin International, a leading manufacturer of adhesives, coatings, and sealants, is currently seeking a Buyer. The Purchasing Analyst / Buyer plans, analyzes, and executes the purchase of assigned goods and services to support Franklin's operational objectives. This role partners with internal teams and external vendors to obtain competitive pricing, ensure reliable supply, administer service agreements, and maintain accurate purchasing records.
Key Responsibilities- Research and source goods and services to achieve best overall value (cost, quality, service, and delivery).
- Prepare specifications and scopes of work; obtain and evaluate bids and proposals.
- Identify vendors and place purchase orders for materials and services, including safety and plant supplies, packaging materials, and trade show support.
- Coordinate and administer service and preventative maintenance contracts (janitorial, HVAC, waste, forklift services, pest control, grounds, and related services).
- Monitor vendor performance, resolve delivery or quality issues, and support corrective actions.
- Enter, track, and receive purchase orders in the ERP system; maintain accurate electronic records and documentation.
- Develop reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
- Communicate order status and collaborate with internal departments to meet operational needs.
- Support Purchasing Team initiatives and provide guidance to the Maintenance MRO Coordinator as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
- 2-3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Primarily office-based with occasional time (up to 10%) in manufacturing areas.
- PPE required when in production environments.
- Minimal day travel may be required.
