POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Veterinarian is dedicated to helping animals through client education. The veterinarian empowers the community to act in the best interest of the animal in all situations and strives to improve the health, length, and quality of life for each pet. The role requires maintaining key performance indicators and pursuing ongoing personal, professional, and financial growth. The veterinarian should be an example of excellence and leadership for the team, contributing to a stable and positive hospital environment.

OBJECTIVES- Provide thorough and holistic examinations of patients; develop inclusive diagnostic recommendations and treatment plans to optimize whole-patient health.
- Develop trusted relationships with clients to ensure treatment plans are adopted and implemented to improve patient health.
- Quantitatively improve patient health through data tracking over a predetermined period.
- Maximize use of products and services to build comprehensive treatment plans for timely patient recovery.
- Develop effective relationships with clients to better serve them, adjusting care plans based on patient feedback.
- Forecast patient wellness care through proactive scheduling to ensure compliance.
- Perform routine spay/neuter, dental, ophthalmic, soft tissue, and abdominal surgeries.
- Manage animal wellness records, entering visit notes and outcomes into electronic health records; transfer cases to UF Pet Emergency Treatment for overnight monitoring when necessary.
- Recommend specialist consultations when needed.
- Work with leadership to optimize processes and innovate new processes (Vision, Commitment, Execution Plans [VCEPs]) for increased efficiency.
- Maintain clear communication with technicians and clients; represent the company with core values and take ownership of hospital standards and operations.
- Maintain accurate statistics to ensure departmental goals are on target; follow OSHA, DEA guidelines, company policies, and protocols.
- Proven ability to create authentic client-patient relationships to maximize treatment compliance and medical recommendations.
- Verbal and written communication skills to professionally navigate objections and client feedback; advocate for the patient.
- Ability to educate clients to address barriers and protect the patient’s health.
- Critical thinking to assess health data and help patients achieve wellness goals.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in MS Office, Windows, Google Suite, and CRMs.
- Proven success inspiring and leading teams to achieve goals; experience in teaching rounds through case evaluation.
- Maintains confidentiality in client interactions and demonstrates professionalism; manages competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine;
Florida License - Veterinarian (Required). TOEFL test for foreign candidates. Bilingual English & Spanish is a plus.
Ability to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods; able to lift at least 50 lbs. Some travel may be required (up to 15%) for continuing education, training, and/or house calls. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Salary: $100,000-$150,000 Base Annual Salary + Commission + Stipend

Hours:
Monday to Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday, 8am-1pm.
