Job Summary

The Campus Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing all engineering, maintenance, and facilities operations across the World Equestrian Center campus, ensuring safety, reliability, and operational excellence. This role provides leadership to a multi‑disciplinary technical team while supporting WEC’s commitment to exceptional hospitality, guest experience, and world‑class equestrian operations.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee all campus engineering functions, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, appliances, and general building maintenance.
  • Supervise and support engineering team members, including Chief Engineers, Maintenance Coordinators, HVAC Technicians, and Appliance Technicians.
  • Develop and implement engineering SOPs that support operational efficiency, safety, and long‑term facility sustainability.
  • Lead preventive maintenance planning and execution for the entirety of the current World Equestrian Center resort and campus and all future expansions.
  • Ensure timely response to maintenance requests and efficient resolution of infrastructure or equipment issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, inspectors, and internal departments to support events, facility needs, and project timelines.
  • Support capital project planning, equipment upgrades, and renovation initiatives in partnership with the Director of Engineering.
  • Manage departmental budgets and provide support for engineering department budget and P&L reporting, including auditing third‑party vendor invoices for accuracy.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, safety regulations, and internal operational standards.
  • Monitor system performance, energy usage, and facility conditions, providing recommendations for improvement and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, asset inventories, PM schedules, and compliance documentation.
  • Mentor and develop engineering team members, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move across a large campus for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs as needed for equipment or repairs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, access mechanical areas, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Qualifications, Education, Experience,

Skills And Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive facilities or engineering management experience, ideally within hospitality, resort, campus, or large‑scale operational environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety.
  • Experience managing multi‑outlet or large, complex facilities with diverse maintenance needs.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with experience supervising technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems, maintenance planning tools, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to safety, compliance, and operational standards.
  • Excellent communication abilities, capable of collaborating with cross‑functional teams including Events, Food & Beverage, Barn Operations, and Executive Leadership.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, guest‑focused environment with high operational demands.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive information and safety‑related responsibilities.
