Quality Engineer

Job Description

Lockheed Martin is looking to hire multiple quality engineers to support our operations team at our Ocala, FL site. Ocala Operations has a represented manufacturing workforce that is supported by a strong engineering and operations support team.

As a Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to monitor and improve the quality of our operational processes and outputs.

• Reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.
• Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to moderately complex.
• Attends and leads program corrective action meeting, identifies trends, assists in problem resolution, and ensures responsible parties meet commitments.
• Participates as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which includes dispositioning non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.
• Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001/AS9100.
• Interfaces with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality related issues.
• Utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.
• Makes the final decision on acceptability of product.
• Plans and performs First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.

• Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement.
• ISO-9001/AS9100 knowledge.
• Circuit Card Assembly / Electronic Component Assembly experience, Cable/Harness experience, Corrective Action process, Preliminary Material Review experience, Material Review Board experience, Military/Aerospace specs.
• Ability to understand Engineering data packages, including GD&T requirements, material and process specifications, and schematics.
• Familiarity with the manufacturing and inspection techniques.
• Experience interacting with government customers (DCMA, DoD).
• Excellent interpersonal skills needed for collaboration, communication, and presentations at working and leadership levels.
• Experience with drafting and reviewing Manufacturing Process Plans.
• Ample experience with root cause and corrective action (RCCA).
• Experience with structured process improvement process activities. i.e. Six Sigma - Black Belt or Green Belt.
