Senior Accountant

R+L Global Logistics is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to accurately prepare and present the company’s financial statements, develop financial models, and provide actionable analysis to support business decisions.

The Senior Accountant gathers and prepares financial and non‑financial data and acts as a key subject‑matter expert for the business lines they maintain.

• Directly involved with the periodic close – preparing financial reporting and ad‑hoc analysis.
• Oversee the month‑end closing process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, schedule updates, and accrual calculations.
• Prepare general ledger entries and reconciliations to close books in a timely manner.
• Prepare and verify complex accounting, statistical, and narrative statements and reports with extensive analysis.
• Present periodic financial reports and financial statements to executive leadership with supplemental metrics.
• Analyze accounting records and financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
• Provide actionable analysis and insights to inform strategy development and decision‑making.
• Maintain departmental accounting systems and controls, recommending process improvements.
• Interpret and analyze complex fiscal data, identifying internal control weaknesses and recommending revisions.
• Assist with internal and external financial and tax audits, including audited financial statements and footnotes.
• Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and future financial projections for business partners.
• Assist with annual budget preparation, planning, and financial/operational forecasts.
• Support strategic initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience; transportation and logistics industry a plus.
• Experience with Financial Management and Business Intelligence software;
  Power BI a plus.
• Experience with Transportation Management System (TMS) software;
  McLeod and Cargowise a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant regulations.
• Intermediate Excel knowledge required;
  Advanced Excel, Macro, and VBA preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to implement business process improvements.
• 3+ years of accounting experience using ERP systems;
  Oracle Cloud experience preferred.
• Exceptional problem‑solving skills with sound judgment for independent decisions.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain discretion on confidential matters.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
