This position contributes to the mission and goals of the department by providing quality Ultrasound exams to those patients, from infancy to geriatrics, and their families, undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Imaging Services. Essential Duties:
Performs quality Ultrasound studies upon orders of a licensed practitioner, assures patient safety, assures staff safety. Assures quality Ultrasound studies for interpretation by the Radiologists. Provides accurate computer documentation

• Performs quality Ultrasound studies upon orders of licensed practitioner
• Verifies physician order prior to scanning
• Checks with physician, floor RN, Radiologist if clarification of orders are needed
• Always uses two types of patient identifiers (name and date of birth) matched with arm band
• Obtains complete, current history of patient and reason for exam

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 0-2 years experience
• Graduate of a ARDMS Approved college and ARDMS registry eligible; BLS
