Job SummaryThe Mental Health Technician (PT) is an active member of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging from preschool through geriatrics, depending on the unit. The Technician works under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities- Listen to patients’ concerns, observe behavior, and record condition.
- Report changes in patient health or behavior to medical staff.
- Lead patients in therapeutic and recreational activities.
- Administer medications and other treatments as instructed by doctors and medical professionals.
- Assist with patient intake and discharge processes.
- Monitor vital signs, including blood pressure and temperature.
- Help patients with daily living activities such as eating and bathing.
- Restrain patients who may become physically volatile.
- Provide appropriate crisis intervention and employ de‑es cadeiraction techniques to ensure safety.
- Previous experience in a mental health hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective collaboration and teamwork abilities.
- Empathy, respect, and compassion for patients.
This is a Part‑Time position (20‑31 hours per week).

- Sign‑on bonus: $2,500
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field preferred.
- Direct patient care experience, CNA, or previous acute care/behavioral experience preferred. Associate or bachelor’s degrees may be used in lieu of experience. Nursing students who have completed required prerequisites may use education in lieu of experience.
