About the OfficeThe five Regional Counsel offices were created by the Legislature pursuant to Section 27.511, Fla. Stat. in 2007 to provide legal representation to indigent persons in criminal conflict cases where the Public Defender has a conflict or in cases where there are multiple co-defendants. The Regional Counsel Office, Fifth Region serves four judicial circuits and 13 counties, including Marion County.
ResponsibilitiesAssist as a full‑time attorney in representing indigent adults and juveniles in criminal conflict cases. This role involves litigating at a high level and providing legal representation where the Public Defender has a conflict or where there are multiple co‑defendants.
Qualifications- Zero to one year experience in criminal conflict cases.
- Must be a member in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- 20 hours of Annual Leave per month, 8.4 hours of sick leave per month.
