Cumberland Companies – Cumberland International Trucks, Inc. is seeking a General Manager to lead the Ocala dealership in building open, honest and trusting relationships with customers and all department personnel. The role must lead and manage multiple departments, promoting efficiency, productivity, and cost reduction to meet monthly and yearly goals.
Responsibilities- Ensures growth & profitability in all departments; ensures compliance with vendor policies & warranty procedures.
- Reviews Departmental sales reports daily.
- Reviews service center warranty performance statements monthly.
- Reviews service center CSP information monthly to insure customer contact and response if required.
- Reviews over 60‑day warranty debits with service managers to insure follow‑up & payment.
- Provides VP & COO with required monthly reports.
- Manages operational costs while ensuring excellent customer service per Core Values.
- Calls on current customers and generates new business.
- Attends Sales, Service, and Parts meetings as necessary.
- Keeps abreast of all vendor updates, warranty policies, and product changes.
- Understands all federal, state and local regulations that affect operations.
- Maintains a safe, clean work environment at all service centers.
- Holds monthly meetings with all Department Managers.
- Attends Dealer staff meetings as required.
- Ensures Department Managers perform their duties as outlined in job descriptions.
- Performs yearly performance reviews with all departmental managers.
- Has general knowledge of marketing practices related to facility appearance and customer relations.
- Leads the initiative of applying the Prestige Standards across the Dealer.
- Minimum of 10 years work experience in the medium/heavy duty truck industry.
- Customer sensitivity and listening ability; communicates professionally with all customers.
- Promotes continuous improvement processes in all departments.
- Team player with high degree of product knowledge.
- Self‑motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Casts oneself in a professional manner, able to adjust to multiple demands, shift priorities, and react to changing demands to best serve each issue.
- Ability to accept change and lead others in a positive direction.
- Superior problem‑solving skills to achieve win‑win solutions.
- Ability to understand, communicate, and evaluate all vendor and International Warranty guidelines.
- Knowledge and use of Microsoft programs/applications at all assigned service locations.
- Ability to lead and motivate employees toward creating a great customer service experience.
- Knowledge of Dealer and Fleet Maintenance procedures and systems.
- Willing to pursue self‑development courses.
- Working knowledge of International and supplier/vendor warranty policies.
- The ability to track daily metrics that are key to meeting and exceeding monthly budgets for all departments.
