The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other care team members, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach and Manage.”
The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and exemplifies the organization’s mission and values.
- Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management.
- Perform procedures and monitoring as ordered by the medical provider and document care in the medical record.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate patient needs.
- Teach patients/families/caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications and follow‑up measures.
- Educate on healthy lifestyle changes and prepare families for future self‑management.
- Florida RN license required (compacts holder must obtain Florida license within 60 days of relocation).
- Registered Nurse diploma or associate degree.
- ACLS within 90 days of start; BLS within 30 days; PALS Pediatric Advanced within 90 days;
Pediatric Emergency Course within 6 months;
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 6 months;
Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months. - Full‑time employment. Entry level.
