The Nurse Manager is responsible for the management of the day‑to‑day operations of the emergency department. He/she is also responsible for the supervision of assigned personnel. The Nurse Manager creates a common vision to facilitate continuous quality improvement in the delivery of patient care in support of the organization's mission and vision. The Nurse Manager assumes the role as leader in planning, organizing, coaching, and facilitating his/her department functions in collaboration with the Director and staff to assure quality service is provided.

Responsible for helping the Director meet JCAHO standards, complying with the organization's policies and procedures, promoting teamwork with physicians and all healthcare providers, promoting internal and external customer satisfaction and for appropriate resource management.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCRISIS/CPI) (within 6 months of hire/transfer)
• 1 – 3 years of nursing leadership experience required
• TNCC (within 6 months of hire/transfer)
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree
