The Vines Hospital is currently recruiting for Full Time RN's to join our Nursing Department
The Nurse is responsible for the delivery of quality nursing care for all patients on the Adolescent Unit. The Nurse coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. The Nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served.
The Nurse is in charge of the unit activities for each shift. The Nurse supervises the Lead Mental Health Techs and Mental Health Techs working on the unit, administers prescribed medications and provides medication and other educational groups.

Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
One (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse and six (6) months in psychiatric nursing working with adolescents preferred.
License/Certification:
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida. Current BLS certification. Successful completion of Handle With Care training including appropriate use of seclusion and restraints during new hire orientation, and prior to assisting in the restraining process.
Skills:
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, teaching and management skills.
- Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.
- Knowledge of milieu management.
- Knowledge of current nursing procedures, the nursing process, medications and their correct administration.
- Ability to direct subordinates in the performance of their duties.
- Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side-effects.
- Ability to safely implement Special Treatment Procedures.
- Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families
- Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation
Physical Requirements:
Work is physically and mentally demanding. Extensive walking, standing, bending, and sitting. Must be able to lift or move over fifty (50) pounds. Able to assist with the restraint of individuals weighing up to 250 pounds. This position may be exposed to second hand smoke from patients while smoking in their designated smoking areas.
