Job Summary

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the specific requirements of the Emergency Department and the scope of nursing practice in Florida. In collaboration with medical providers and other care team members, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN advocates for patients, families, and caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.

  • Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and conducts reassessments after appropriate interventions.
  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting all care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Responds promptly to patient requests, striving to anticipate and resolve needs proactively.
  • Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex terminology to ensure full understanding.
  • Teaches non‑medicinal follow‑up measures (e.g., healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention) and prepares families for future self‑management.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (AHA) within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitate within 90 days of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing.
