Registered Nurse - Resource Nurse - Cates House

Hospice of Marion County, a part of Empath Health is seeking a caring and motivated Registered Nurse to work with us at our Hospice House in Ocala while providing exceptional care on the following schedule:
noon to 8:30 pm Monday - Friday.

• Demonstrates the ability to obtain patient history, perform an age-specific physical, psychosocial and spiritual assessment and initiates appropriate referral, intervention and collaboration between the patient, family, Interdisciplinary team (IDT), physician and partnering facility (as applicable) following policy and practice guidelines.
• The RN will identify patient/family goals, develop a Plan of Care with patient, family, IDT, attending and physician, partnering facility and evaluate progress towards goals. The Plan of Care will be updated according to policy/guidelines and as needs change (RN performs as case manager).
• The RN will provide collaboration and care coordination between the patient, family, Interdisciplinary team (IDT), physician and partnering facility (as applicable) following policy and practice guidelines.
• The RN will use excellent critical thinking, judgment and ethical principles for problem solving, positive and effective collaboration and follow-through in all patient and caregiver clinical situations.

• Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing;
  Nursing Diploma, BSN, MSN preferred.
• Must be a current Registered Nurse with a license issued by the Florida Board of Nursing.
• Must have a minimum of (6) six months clinical nursing experience; (1) one or more years clinical nursing experience preferred.
• Current Basic life support (BLS) CPR Certification required.
• Must have a Valid Florida drivers License, maintain current auto insurance coverage and have access to a reliable automobile.
• Must have reliable transportation which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee’s HR file. Required to work in other Care Centers based on business needs.
