Responsibilities
  • With moderate supervision, assist the store management team in executing and supervising all store activities. Provide outstanding guest service experiences within a sales culture that utilizes elements of Game Stop s Circle of Life buy, sell, trade, and reservation business model.
  • Ensure products are easily accessible and purchasable; boost sales by sharing product and gaming knowledge with guests; maintain a clean and organized shopping environment; foster guest loyalty and repeat business.
  • Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors during transactions, and thank guests for choosing Game Stop.
  • Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
  • Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the POS system; address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone.
  • Promote Game Stop s guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations program, Pro Rewards).
  • Ensure store areas (including restrooms) are clean, organized, and merchandised according to company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.
  • Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
  • Safeguard assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safety expectations; assist with bank deposits as required.
  • Conduct store inventory counts; stock/restock merchandise; move products from stock room to selling floor to maintain represented, organized, and alphabetized inventory.
  • Support management in meeting/exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties.
  • Count, balance, and reconcile daily POS totals; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposit slips; ensure adequate cash for transactions; make daily deposits following guidelines.
  • Check shipments for discrepancies; report discrepancies to store leadership as needed.
  • Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; ensure boxes are properly labeled with packing lists.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.
  • Adhere to Game Stop policies and procedures; follow opening/closing procedures; provide feedback to management on associate performance.
  • Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback.
Qualifications
  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.
  • Must be able to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.

  • Basic math and alphabetizing skills.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team to complete tasks promptly.

  • Follow instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines.
  • Flexible schedule, including extended hours/days as necessary (nights, weekends, holidays); minimum 3 days/week availability.
  • Remain effective under pressure; handle stress appropriately.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift merchandise up to 30 lbs from ground to 4 feet.
