Store Manager In Training (SMIT) – Overview
At CVS Health, we are building a world of health around every consumer and surrounding ourselves with dedicated colleagues who are passionate about transforming health care. The SMIT program is a development-focused role designed to prepare you for a future CVS Store Manager position. We support your growth through a self-paced, collaborative training program spanning 16 weeks with virtual and hands‑on learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to support and lead your team.
- Perform customer care duties to deliver high levels of service.
- Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
- Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
- Actively engage with your leader in Key Learning Experiences to support your path to promotion during the structured program.
- Support the store as a management team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
- Engage colleagues in support of the company’s purpose of “helping people on their path to better health.”
- Accept promotion roles with the market that you work in.
- Program duration: 16 weeks.

Flexibility to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs. - Location:
Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager in any location within the designated market. - Transfer:
Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores located within the designated market. - Time Type:
Full Time. - Anticipated Weekly

- High School diploma or GED (required). A four‑year college degree is preferred.
- Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
- Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.
- Willingness to accept promotion to Store Manager at any location in the designated market.
- Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with all federal, state and local laws.
The typical pay range for this role is $18.50 – $23.88 per hour. This pay range represents the base hourly rate for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
