Lady Lake, FL
This is a skilled position applying electrical code and theory in the installation, replacement, and repair of electrical systems common to the equipment and electrical apparatuses used throughout the District.
Working Conditions- Indoors/Outdoors:
The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. - Heat:
The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures are above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. - Noise:
The worker is subject to noise. The noise level requires shouting to be heard above ambient noise.
- Education:
Graduation from a standard high school or equivalency diploma preferred. - Experience:
One year of verifiable work experience in the trade or service area assigned. - Computer
Skills:
Basic understanding and knowledge of use of current technology. - Certificates and Licenses:
Valid Florida Class-D driver’s license or will obtain within 30 work days. - Other Requirements:
Complete set of job‑related hand tools required and ability to use them. May need to work on scaffolds, stepladders, and high extension ladders.

- Manifest a professional code of ethics and values at all times.
- Support activities designed to achieve priority goals identified through the District’s strategic plan.
- Assist in the installation, repair, and replacement of power panels, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning panels, lighting panels, and all areas of branch circuit wiring.
- Assist with the continuous update of inventory parts and equipment on each assigned vehicle.
- Operate service trucks to and from various project locations.
- Operate aerial bucket truck, power trencher, hydraulic trailer, and scissor lift.
- Load and handle rigid pipe, panels, junction boxes, and wire spools.
- Adhere to all workplace safety rules, procedures, and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly. - Communication:
Ability to communicate effectively with others orally and in writing. Exhibit good listening and comprehension skills. Keep others adequately informed. Select and use appropriate communication methods. - Problem Solving:
Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work related problems. - Technical Aptitude:
Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information. Ability to use and limited working knowledge of the National Electric Code Book. - Working Under Pressure:
Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations in a timely manner.
- Medium work:
Required to push, pull, or lift from 20 to 50 pounds occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently. May involve lifting or moving small objects.
