Bus Driver (Must have a CDL with Passenger Endorsement)

. You will work at the Sun Tran location and be part of a team dedicated to helping people safely reach their destinations.
We are hiring for both full‑time and part‑time schedules. Extensive on‑the‑job training and an 8‑week paid training program will be provided.
Responsibilities- Operate transit buses safely while following routes and schedules.
- Assist passengers, including those using wheelchairs or other mobility devices.
- Collect and report passenger fares and ridership accurately.
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, and record any mechanical issues.
- Follow Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and fixed‑route procedures, including making verbal announcements of major intersections.
- Complete written reports, forms, and an Operator Daily Report Sheet/Bus Log Sheet.
- Provide courteous, customer‑focused service and respond to travel‑related questions.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- CDL Class A or B with Airbrakes;
Passenger Endorsement preferred. - Valid driving record and excellent customer service experience.
- Must be able to pass an annual physical examination and alcohol/drug test.
- Must be knowledgeable of the Ocala street network.
- Must maintain at least a satisfactory level on work performance evaluations.
- Physical ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, twist, kneel, grasp, push/pull, lift 0–30 pounds, and perform other duties described.
- Special sensitivity to the needs of transit‐dependent, elderly, and disabled passengers.
- Availability to work varying shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and to train Monday‑Friday for part‑time positions.
- Compensation: $17.50 per hour.
