Service Technician (Driver/Service Technician)

Reports to:
Service Tech Supervisor. Supervises:
None.
Work hours:
Full Time / Part Time;
Day and Evening Shift, On Call.
- Adhere to and implement all company policies, procedures, and compliance with accreditation standards.
- Show compassion and empathy when interacting with the public.
- Take all appropriate actions to ensure company compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Inform Dispatch Manager and report on all successes/failures.
- Seek tasks and inform Dispatch Manager of idle time before, after, and between deliveries.
- Attend office meetings.
- Observe confidentiality at all times.
- Clean equipment brought back from the previous day for a minimum of ½ hour each morning before starting route preparation.
- Deliver and set up equipment and supplies efficiently, providing instructions to clients and leaving a procedure manual and customer handbook with every new setup.
- Confirm calls to all customers prior to delivery and communicate any route changes so customers are aware.
- Update Customer Service with any changes to your daily posted route.
- Familiarize yourself with and adhere to all regulatory and safety procedures that apply to the delivery of gaseous oxygen.
- Pick up equipment in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate delivery, pick‑up, and exchange records for all rental equipment.
- Be on call as per company policy.
- Complete and advise customers of care plans as part of paperwork.
- Update Warehouse Manager and/or Dispatch Manager of any follow‑up action or concerns via progress notes.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all paperwork as per company policies and regulations; submit to Warehouse Manager by 8:30 am the following morning.
- Assist with inventory control, including putting new stock away.
- Help maintain branch building and grounds through cleaning, painting, minor repairs, and other tasks as directed.
- Operate the company vehicle safely and perform routine care; report any mechanical issues or damage to the company.
- Assist all other company team members whenever possible.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (preferred).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Clean and neat personal appearance and hygiene.
- Ability to work effectively with all members of the organization.
- Two (2) years of experience in medical equipment.
- Excellent driving record.
- Service Technician competency.
- Lift/carry up to 75 pounds frequently in an average 8‑hour day.
- Stand/walk 3 hours and sit 3 hours (including up to 1 hour of data entry/phone work) in an average 8‑hour day.
- Drive 7 hours in an average 8‑hour day.
