POSITIONSUMMARY
The Operations Manager coordinates the activities of hotel personnel as directed by management and assists them with the management of hotel operations. This position helps ensure the overall quality of the hotel, achievement of operational goals, and guest satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Assigns duties to staff, observes performance, and provides training and other assistance to ensure consistency regarding hotel policies, operations procedures, safety standards, and quality outcomes.
- Oversees front desk, housekeeping and maintenance operations.
- Reviews employee performance and assists management with personnel actions such as disciplinary actions.
- Conducts, or assists in conducting staff meetings.
- Receives and resolves, or assists in resolving, guest complaints, and employee issues.
- Maintains accurate records including direct bill accounts, credit card receipts, registration cards and night audit reports.
- Utilizes the checklist to ensure accuracy of daily duties.
- Adheres to all company procedures, including all Brand operating procedures and internal audit requirements.
- Inspects resort for cleanliness and appearance and ensure that below standard items are promptly addressed.
- Purchases supplies or services from outside vendors, such as landscaping, housekeeping supplies, and maintenance supplies, and manages these relationships.
The Operations Manager may also:
- Perform the functions of the management in their absence.
- Assist with Facilities Management.
- Assist with hiring, training, and supervision of front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance employees.
- Cover shifts in all departments as scheduled by the General Manager.
- Correspond with group and travel agents to answer special requests for units and rates.
- Assist with sales and marketing efforts as directed.
- Answer inquiries about resort policies and services.
- Act as a primary point of contact for guest complaints. Monitor and respond to guest reviews on internal platforms and third-party sites in a timely, professional manner.
- Perform other duties as needed to ensure smooth property operations.
- Bachelor's Degree in the Hospitality or related field.
- 3 + years of management experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Must be proficient in MS Office.
- Must possess knowledge of the hospitality industry and operations.
