Teacher Assistant Special Education - High School

Position: TEACHER ASSISTANT - SPECIAL EDUCATION (IDEA = Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) at Ocean Springs School District.

COMMENCING DATE: IMMEDIATELY

• Assist the teacher in maintaining appropriate classroom activities and enhance student learning.

• Hold an Associate Degree or higher, or
• Two Years or 48 College Credit Hours (Transcripts Verification Required), or
• High School Diploma/GED and ACT Work Keys Silver Level Certification requirements — Applied Mathematics, score 4;
  Graphic Literacy, score 4;
  Workplace Documents, score 4.
• Interpersonal skills in working with students, professional colleagues, administration, parents, and community.
• Strong written and oral communication skills: grammar, spelling, punctuation.
• Good physical condition with ability to lift 50 pounds.

Commensurate with the Ocean Springs salary schedule for classified positions for the  school year.
