Registered Nurse - December/Fall Graduate Nurse
Join Singing River Health System as a Graduate Registered Nurse and play a vital role in helping patients attain, maintain, and restore optimal health. The RN will provide patient care using the Nursing Process within the MS Nurse Practice Act and all applicable standards and guidelines.
Position OverviewThe Registered Nurse is a professional who utilizes the Nursing Process to support patient health. Competency is demonstrated by possessing the knowledge, attitudes, and skills required for this position. The RN provides patient care in accordance with the MS Nurse Practice Act, ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, CDC guidelines for infection control, and SRHS Departments of Nursing Plan for Provision of Care.

EducationGraduate from the National League for Nursing (NLN) School of Nursing.
LicenseCurrently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Mississippi.
Certifications- All RNs must complete and maintain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) upon hire and/or transfer.
- Specialty certifications (within 12–18 months of starting in specialty):
- Cath Lab – ACLS
- Cardiac Rehab – ACLS
- Congestive Heart Failure – ACLS
- Cardiovascular Surgery – ACLS
- Emergency Department – ACLS, PALS, TNCC
- Intensive Care Units – ACLS
- Labor & Delivery – ACLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation)
- Medical Nursing – OB/GYN – PALS
- Nursery – NRP
- Pediatrics – PALS
- PACU/Recovery – ACLS, PALS
- All RNs must complete de‑escalation training by the end of the 90‑day orientation period.
A minimum of one year of inpatient clinical experience is preferred. Experience must be within the past five years or evidence of successful completion of a refresher program.

SupervisesLPNs, Patient Care Assistants, Unit Technicians
Physical DemandsWork is moderately active: frequent movement within the facility and occasional inter‑facility travel. Requires occasional light lifting and handling of patient bodies. Repetitive motions and use of standard office equipment (keyboard, monitor) are common. Must work rotating schedules and handle extended periods without fatigue.
Mental DemandsRequires strong assessment, decision‑making, communication (verbal and written), emotional stability, the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, multi‑task, and maintain collaborative relationships.
Special DemandsProfessional etiquette, customer‑service skills, and computer proficiency (MS Outlook, Word, telephone, fax) are essential. Demonstrated clinical judgment across all age groups is required.
