Nurse Practitioner - Gastroenterology — Singing River Health System, Digestive Clinic | Full-Time | Monday - Friday 8-5 | Ocean Springs, Mississippi

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice RN working in collaboration with physicians to deliver health care services to meet the specialized physiologic and psychological needs of patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions. The NP delivers health care services to a population of patients within their scope of certification and education.

• Provide patient care in collaboration with physicians within the NP scope of practice and education.
• Deliver health care services to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions.

• Requires successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with a Master s degree in Nursing.

• Mississippi State Licensure as Nurse Practitioner required.

• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Geriatric Nurse Practitioner required.
• Must complete and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire and/or transfer.

• One (1) year of advanced nursing experience preferred.
• If working in Psychiatric Services, a minimum of two (2) years  experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care or psychiatric hospital required. Previous experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in an inpatient and outpatient setting preferred.

• Work is moderately active: involves moving about the office and facility, with travel to other SRHS locations as needed.
• Exerting a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, or pull objects.
• Exposure to body fluids, sputum, and tissues; repeated use of wrists, hands, and fingers; close visual acuity and ability to shift gaze between screens and printed materials.

• Strong assessment, decision-making, and communication skills; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in complex situations; maintain collaborative working relationships.

• Superior customer service and professional etiquette; proficient computer and office technology skills (MS Outlook and Word).
