The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse who is educated in the art and science of nursing, with the goal of assisting patients to attain, maintain, and restore health. The RN provides patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the MS Nurse Practice Act, ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. Competency is determined by demonstrated possession of the knowledge, attitudes, and skills required for this position.

EducationGraduate from NLN School of Nursing.
LicenseCurrently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Mississippi.
Certifications- All RNs are required to complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.

- RNs have 12 months from the date they begin working in the specialty area to acquire the appropriate certification and 18 months to acquire TNCC certification for the Emergency Department.
- Must have de‑escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days) and maintain appropriate level of de‑escalation training.
A minimum of one year of inpatient clinical experience, preferred. Experience must be within the past five years or evidence of successful refresher program.

Physical DemandsWork is moderately active: involves sitting, frequent movement around the office and facility, and travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. The job requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects, including the human body. Exposure to body fluids, sputum, and tissues carries infectious disease hazard. Repetitive motions involve wrists, hands, and fingers. Requires good vision and ability to shift focus between screens and printed materials.
Must be able to work extended periods without undue fatigue and accommodate schedule changes.
Must demonstrate keen mental faculties, assessment and decision‑making abilities, superior communication skills (spoken and written), emotional stability, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Attention to detail and ability to multi‑task in complex situations are required. Must maintain collaborative relationships throughout SRHS and affiliated organizations.
Special DemandsMust possess superior customer service skills, professional etiquette, computer proficiency (keyboard, MS Outlook, Word, other office technology), and the ability to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment for patients of all ages.
