Founded in 1947, Bailey Lumber & Supply offers a broad range of services and specialty building products to both professional builders and do-it-yourselfers, operating six locations, including truss and wall panel manufacturing facilities, in Mississippi.

The CDL Driver I delivers materials to job sites, inspects and maintains trucks, reports shortages and claims to supervisor, and assists in loading and storing materials. Typically drives a truck with a capacity of more than three tons. May require less experienced CDL or tractor trailer driver qualifications.

• Operate safely.
• Participate in a positive work environment.
• Maintain a current Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License as required.
• Prepare DOT required log of time on duty and driving.
• Organize and secure load.
• Assist forklift operators when loading.
• Check orders for accuracy.
• Deliver and unload materials to customers’ satisfaction.
• Complete daily equipment pre-inspection.
• Record all merchandise that is returned by truck, assist in unloading material returned for credit.
• Follow guidelines established by the Department of Transportation.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Relay messages sent by customers while on job.
• Assist supervisor, other employees and other work areas, as assigned.
• Assist in maintaining good housekeeping in yard and warehouse.
• Comply with all company policies and guidelines.
• Operate truck mounted forklift safely and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness of truck.
• Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
• Adhere to Company’s commitment to workplace safety.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience:
  
  CDL experience preferred; basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers required; 1-3 years CDL experience for interstate commerce.
• Licenses &
  
  Certifications:
  
  Class A CDL License required;
  Class B CDL License required.
• Skills:
  
  Ability to do basic math, read orders, write instructions and complete forms; effective communication with customers and colleagues; safe lifting techniques; proficiency with or ability to learn smartphones, GPS and other business applications.
