Mira Costa College’s Chemistry department invites applications for one equity‑minded, full‑time (10 months per year) tenure‑track Chemistry Instructor position beginning in August 2026.
Principal responsibilities for the position include instruction in any of the courses offered in the Chemistry department. The individuals selected will share leadership roles with other full‑time instructors in coordinating and developing curriculum, using culturally responsive teaching methods, and coordinating the overall program.
Residency Requirement
Mira Costa College Board Policy 7800 requires all full‑time faculty to permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California within 200 miles of the employee’s regularly assigned district worksite. The District may consider a temporary residence outside California or outside the 200‑mile limit on a case‑by‑case basis, not to exceed twelve consecutive months.
Compensation
Initial salary placement is based on education and experience and ranges from $88,852 (class I, step
1) to $148,747 (class VI‑doctorate, step 10) on the 2025‑2026 Annual Salary Schedule.
