Political Science Associate (Part‑time) Instructor Pool 2025–2026

Inside Higher Ed is recruiting a Political Science Associate to join our instructor pool for part‑time assignments at all locations. Applications are accepted through June 30, 2026; a new posting will begin July 1, 2026 for candidates who wish to re‑apply.

Assignments may occur in the mornings, evenings, or weekends on campuses or authorized facilities. Compensation ranges between $89.79 and $105.04 per hour, based on education level.

• Plan, organize, and teach courses in the political science discipline in accordance with approved course outlines, education code requirements, and faculty contract provisions.
• Provide feedback and guidance to students and evaluate student performance.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

• Associate‑level faculty qualifications; education level influences compensation.
• California residency requirement: maintain a permanent residence in California within 200 road miles of the regular worksite. For fully online assignments, residence in California is required; residence beyond 200 miles is allowed on a case‑by‑case basis for up to twelve consecutive months.
• Subject‑matter expertise in political science.

$89.79 to $105.04 per hour, depending on education level.
