The Consumer Loan Processor is responsible for processing all consumer loan product applications in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, laws, and guidelines. The role provides members with detailed guidance on product, pricing, and the loan process from application to close. - Promptly respond to all digital loan applications, determine eligibility for memberships, and process members’ requests to satisfy the digital request and complete the loan process within established service levels.
- Act as the main point of contact throughout the loan process, ensuring excellent service by providing guidance on process, product, and pricing.
- Provide excellent service to members (external and internal) by completing the loan process timely, efficiently, and with minimal errors. Update the LOS with loan status notes according to department KPIs.
- Ensure accuracy in loan application, verification of income, and other documents required for funding or contract stipulations. Conduct follow‑up contact with members for additional information.
- Communicate underwriting recommendations to members according to the established service level agreement and workflow process.
- Contribute to development, testing, documentation, and training on new workflows and procedures.
- Assist team members and other departments with lending guidelines, process workflows, and loan documentation questions.
- Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of financial industry experience with at least one year of lending experience.
- Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities - Basic computer skills with general knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of California and out‑of‑state DMV policy and procedures.
- Knowledge of basic consumer lending processes.
- Knowledge of after‑market products and ability to cross‑sell other products and services offered by the credit union.
- Salary Range: $23.84/hr – $35.76/hr
