CNC Mill Machinist – 1st Shift
R&G Precision Machining – Oceanside, CA
R&G Precision Machining is looking for an experienced CNC Mill Machinist to join our 1st shift team. We are an established aerospace machine shop specializing in high-mix, low-volume precision machining.
We are looking for a machinist who can set up and run their own jobs
, make necessary adjustments, and keep the machine producing quality parts throughout the shift.
- Set up and operate CNC vertical and horizontal mills
- Read and understand aerospace drawings and GD&T
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
- Make tool offsets and adjustments to maintain tolerances
- Change, touch off, and monitor cutting tools
- Troubleshoot machining and setup issues
- Make minor program edits at the machine when necessary
- Use micrometers, calipers, height gauges, pin gauges, and other inspection equipment
- Complete required inspection and production documentation
- Communicate issues before they result in scrap or downtime
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Work with programmers, inspection, and other machinists to keep jobs moving
- 5+ years of CNC milling experience required
- Strong hands-on CNC setup experience
- Aerospace machining experience preferred
- Ability to independently read blueprints and understand GD&T
- Comfortable holding tight tolerances
- Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, and other aerospace materials
- Ability to inspect and verify your own work
- Horizontal machining experience is a plus
- Fanuc control experience preferred
- Must be dependable and have a strong attendance record
This is not just a machine operator position
. We need an experienced machinist who understands the machining process and can take ownership of their work.
You should be comfortable setting up jobs, making offsets and adjustments, identifying tooling or machining problems, and producing good parts without needing constant supervision.
