The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients of various ages depending on the unit.

Schedule: 16 - 30 hours a week.

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, interact with patients, attend to patient needs, and help in crisis intervention as needed.
• Transport patients to and from appointments, labs, treatments, and clinics.
• Facilitate on-the-job training for new and existing team members.
• Provide therapeutic patient care in group or one-to-one settings.
• Respond to emergency and crisis situations, supporting visitor safety.
• Monitor safety, infection control standards, and environment.
• Observe, monitor, and record patient behavior and activities.
• Ensure safety and correct location of patients, including milieu management.
• Report changes in patient condition or safety to the treatment team.
• Orient and educate patients upon admission and document as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining knowledge of department protocols, pursuing education, and participating in committees.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• A current Driver's license in good standing is preferred.
• Support for inpatient and residential (adult) levels of care.

• American Heart Association CPR certification within 30 days.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training within 60 days.
• Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) training within 90 days.
• Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening.
