Position: Part-Time Director of Finance (Nonprofit)

Kingdom Kare, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Director of Finance to lead financial planning, oversight, and reporting for our growing nonprofit organization. Reporting to the President/CEO, this person will monitor cash flow, prepare budgets and financial reports, oversee grant and program finances, and help ensure that financial records are accurate and audit ready.

Description

The ideal candidate has significant nonprofit finance experience, understands government grants and reimbursement funding, and can turn financial information into clear recommendations for leadership and the Board. A CPA credential is preferred, but strong nonprofit financial leadership experience will also be considered.

Job Duties — Part-Time Director of Finance
  • Lead KKI’s financial planning, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for the President/CEO and Board, including budget-to-actual results, cash flow, receivables, and significant financial concerns.
  • Process and run payroll in ADP in coordination with KKI’s Executive Officer.Review approved timesheets, leave, pay changes, and deductions; resolve discrepancies before submission; verify payroll reports; and maintain accurate payroll records.
  • Review expense forms, reimbursement requests, invoices, and purchase documentation for accuracy, proper approval, available funding, and correct coding before payment.
  • Monitor spending across programs and grants, including restricted funds, grant budgets, allowable costs, and required financial reports.
  • Track government reimbursement requests and receivables, follow up on outstanding payments, and help plan for gaps between expenses and reimbursement.
  • Coordinate with KKI’s bookkeeping and accounting partners to ensure timely reconciliations, accurate records, and a reliable monthly close.
  • Maintain financial controls, including clear approval procedures, separation of duties, and documentation for purchases and payments.
  • Lead preparation for the annual audit and coordinate responses to financial document requests.
  • Work with program leaders to develop budgets, understand spending, and address financial issues early.
  • Recommend improvements to expense forms, payroll procedures, financial workflows, and reporting systems.
  • Perform other finance duties assigned by the President/CEO.
