The Economic Development Assistant supports the efforts of our economic development team by handling administrative tasks, conducting research, and assisting with outreach efforts.

The Economic Development Assistant provides administrative and research support to the Economic Development Director and team. This role involves assisting with business retention and expansion efforts, preparing reports, coordinating meetings, and engaging with stakeholders.

Here’s a general job description:

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings and preparing agendas.
  • Conduct research on local economic trends, business opportunities, and community
    development initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing marketing materials and presentations for economic development
    projects.
  • Maintain databases of business contacts, available properties, and economic statistics.
  • Coordinate events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote economic
    growth.
  • Respond to inquiries from businesses, developers, and the public regarding economic
    development programs.
  • Help manage the department’s website and social media presence.
  • Support grant applications and funding proposals for economic development
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma (Required).
  • Experience in economic development, city planning, marketing, or public relations
    (beneficial).
  • Strong research, communication (social media), and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders.
