Emergency Medical Technology Skills Instructor (Part Time/Adjunct)

Odessa College is seeking a part‑time Emergency Medical Technology Skills Instructor to provide quality instruction in accordance with programmatic, TXDSHS, and CAAHEP/CoAEMSP guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction and skills training in the subject matter assigned by the lead instructor.
  • Demonstrate mastery of subject matter, interpret theories, and connect topics with related fields.
  • Stay current through professional development, organization involvement, and attendance at meetings, conferences, and workshops.
  • Maintain current licensure, certification, or other professional credentials required for the position.
  • Establish and follow meaningful learning objectives; develop and explain assessment methods; evaluate student performance fairly and return feedback promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information and demonstrate high-level professionalism.
  • Substitute for other instructors in the teaching discipline if absent; perform other duties as assigned by the EMS Program Director.
  • Direct students in laboratory classes; supervise and assist with lab assignments; ensure equipment, materials, and instructional aids are available.
  • Maintain daily lab order and arrange for equipment repairs when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Current Texas State or NREMT, Paramedic credential.
  • At least two (2) years of work experience in EMS.
  • Detail‑oriented, with strong problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and decision‑making skills.
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to enhance student learning.
  • Willingness to assume responsibility for professional and personal growth.
