Construction Quality Assurance (CQA / QC) Supervisor

We are seeking a safety‑focused leader with field experience (preferably in construction) to supervise construction quality assurance at a mine reclamation project in northern New Mexico beginning January 2026. This full‑time onsite role requires a minimum 2‑year commitment, with potential to extend beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Identify problems, deficiencies, and design deviations and develop courses of action to address these issues.
- Communicate and articulate findings to the client, construction contractor, and Stantec leadership.
- Lead the Stantec CQA field team, delegating tasks based on individual skills, ensuring clear communication and attention to detail.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external personnel on and off site, including client management and professional organizations.
- Create and maintain a high‑functioning safety culture, tracking compliance with safe work practices and adhering to company and client guidelines.
- Use and master field equipment—Trimble survey equipment, portable X‑ray fluorescence spectrometer, electronic density gauge.
- Contribute to design solutions, as‑built construction records, and other field engineering activities using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center.
- Plan, coordinate, direct, and execute Stantec CQA field team activities and documentation, including field observations, sample collection, field testing, and daily field reports.
- Review and respond to technical memoranda, RFIs, and as‑built reports.
- Supervise QA activities such as sample collection, gradation analyses, material density testing, and surveying.
- Interact daily with client management, engineering, and field staff to plan and execute CQA activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a B.S. in engineering or geology, an associate’s degree with strong surveying skills, a professional surveying license, or comparable relevant work experience.
- 4–6 years of field work on civil and/or geotechnical engineering projects, focusing on detailed design, site investigation, and technical communication; preference for mine remediation/reclamation experience.
- Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and typical professional software (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat).
- Exceptional technical writing, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently at remote sites.
- OSHA HAZWOPER and supervisory training required.
- Dynamic individual able to work in high‑altitude, rugged environments (five to six days per week).
- Physical ability to traverse steep slopes and safely operate equipment.

Compensation: Competitive pay with 10+ hours overtime per week, housing allowance, meal per diem, use of company vehicle. Overtime and bonus eligibility subject to role.
