Phlebotomist - Night Shift

Odessa Regional Medical Center is seeking a reliable Phlebotomist for the overnight shift to ensure effective patient care and accurate specimen collection.

• Obtains proper blood specimens from patients in the hospital
• Prepares all specimens for reference laboratories
• Collects appropriate control specimens as requested
• Assists technologists and other personnel as time and training permits
• Performs related clerical, billing and charting responsibilities
• Identifies age‑specific phlebotomy needs of patients and implements appropriate procedures and processes

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience, preferably in a hospital setting
• Previous exposure to Emergency Room and trauma situations
• Basic medical terminology proficiency
• Understanding of medical ethics and handling of confidential information, formal or on‑the‑job blood collection techniques
