Position Summary
The Anesthesia Technician assesses the needs of the anesthesia care provider while preparing the surgical patient for anesthesia. He/she routinely cares for and prepares anesthesia supplies and monitoring equipment.
Education- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire.
- Texas CNA or EMT preferred.
- ACLS encouraged.
- Certified Anesthesia Tech encouraged.
- Successful completion of hospital orientation within 3 months of hire required.
- Successful completion of the Customer Service course within 3 months of hire required.
- Connecting patients to monitors
- Preparing IV set-up
- Preparing invasive monitoring line set-up
- Anesthesia machine set-up
- Non‑invasive line monitoring room set-up
- Invasive line monitoring room set-up
- Continuous cardiac output monitoring set-up
- Assisting in placement of invasive lines
